I wrote a plugin that allows you to put an image gallery into an entry. MT 4.21 and Google Toolbar Spell Check

I just upgraded to MT 4.21 and have found that my IE Google Toolbar spell checker no longer works on the entry editing screen. Anyone else seeing this and find a work around?

Implicitly calling MT Search function from outside MT

I have a web application (J2EE). From one of its page I want to call the MT Search function with the search keywords such that thereafter MT search function internally searches for those keywords and loads the MT Search results page if any blog entries match the criteria else the MT home page is loaded.

Please let me know if this is possible and please on any pointers to the documentation on this.

Registering new XML-RPC methods

Is it possible for a plugin to register new XML-RPC methods, and if so, how? Or, is there another, reasonably straight forward way that doesn't require hacking the xml-rpc cgi script?

Disable Time and Date alterations

Hello,

I noticed that users having 'writer' privileges are able to alter 'time and date' stamp. Ideally faculty members do not want this feature available to ustudents as for some projects there are dtrict deadlines. How can we stop this?

Problems with MultiBlog

This is my first time using Movable Type, but it fit what we needed. A small group of 4 people will be blogging about various stuff we do, with a single blog that arrogates our blogs into one. So, I have MT 4.21-en installed. I have three blogs configured right now, blog IDs 1,2 and 3.

I have three problems. The first is that updates are not triggering on the multi blog. Second, the aggregated blogs are being sorted by author name and then created on, and not created on. The final problem is that the search feature is not working for the aggregated blogs from the first one.

1) Updates In the Multiblog "Tools>Plugins>MultiBlog 2.0>Settings" menu Content Privacy is set to "Allow" MTMultiBlog tag default arguments is set to "Exclude Blogs" with "1" Then the rebuild triggers. I have tried adding everything, and it is still not triggering

I added: When any Weblog "saves an entry/publishes an entry/comment/trackback" i have set "rebuild indexes and send pings" (basically 4 copies of the rule, with different triggers) When "blog 2/3" "saves an entry" i have set "rebuild indexes"

so i have six triggers and none of them are triggering. I post a blog entry on blog #3 and the main blog #1 does not rebuild. If i go in and manually rebuild #1 then the blog entries from #3 show up in the index of #1, but it is not auto rebuilding.

2) Sorting I want the aggregated blog entries on the index of blog #1 to be sorted by the posted date. right now it is sorted by blog source, and then posted date.

i have tried moving the sort_by on the mt:entries and there was no change.

3) search when i do a search on the main blog (#1) it only returns results from itself, not from the other blogs that i have aggregated into its index. how do I make the search global across all blogs, or at least the blogs i have aggregated.

Why am I getting core dumps?

Hi,

Using MTOS 4.2, was using MTOS 4.1, just upgraded a couple weeks ago. Run a podcast site with Byrne's killer plugin and this is the second time I have had to clear a ton of core.#### files out of the /cgi-bin/mt/ dir.

Why would it be doing this? Looking in the Activity Log I see nothing really odd. There are a ton of search querys, and they look like Tag searches.

If I talk to my host about this, what should I be asking them about the server. Right now I am on a VPS.

User cannot select a Forum (Category)

I have a "community forum" blog with three categories (Forums). When a user tries to "Start a Topic" the form includes a drop down box "Forum" with the three categories present. However, the user is unable to select any of them. No matter which category is clicked, the box closes back to "Select Forum...".

What could cause a Custom Field image asset to not display?

If I upload an image to a custom field that has been set to contain an image asset, the upload is successful and I can view the image by clicking on the "View image" link in the entry. I can also embed the image inside a post using the toolbar.

I cannot embed the image into a template by calling the custom field asset. For example, I have a custom field named "entrydatahome_photo" but I'm not able to embed this using the standard method, i.e.,

Any ideas as to what could cause this?

"Create, Admin, Desing, preferences, tools" menu bad after upgrade

Hi. I made the update to 4.21, everything works fine, juts the ""Create, Admin, Desing, preferences, tools" menu, where I usually could admin my post, comments, preferences etc. Before, everytime I move the mouse cursor over, other options were displayed, now its only "Create, Admin, Desing, preferences, tools" the ones who appears. I cant create a page, or admin comment or pics, etc. What can I do?

Custom Field Image Asset Display

I've created a custom field (MT 4.2) that is used to contain an image that is then displayed within the entry. The first entry that I created uploaded and displayed the image with no problem, and still does. The subsequent entries don't display the image, nor do they display the image when I go to the edit entry screen (though the first entry does.) Additionally, the images are being properly uploaded to the correct directory

The code that I'm using to display the image (field name "entryphoto1")and the image caption (field name "entrydataphoto1caption") is as follows:

As I've said, this worked fine on the first entry but no entries since then. Have I done something wrong, or is this a bug in how Custom Fields is handling image assets?

LightBox plugin errors

I like the lightbox plugin under 4.2 MTOS , makes it much easier to use since the code is automatically stuck in there for me, however it seems to break Sceduled Entries. I am getting the following error:

The author left a comment on the plugin page that this had been fixed but it has apparently not, at least not in the version available for download. Anyone else using the plugin that might have a idea?

Customfields not saved in preview mode in 4.2

In upgrading from 4.1 to 4.2, we notice that customfields are -not- saved when previewing. Enter customfields data, click preview and they are not saved (with either a new entry, or populating CF for the first time in an existing entry). If the entry is saved first and then previewed, it works as it did previously.

archive templates removed from publish pop-up

Along with upgrading to 4.2, I've recently added some new templates to a blog and changed the archive mappings to point to these templates. After making the change I noticed each of the archive types that I added (category, monthly) vanished from the publish pop-up box. Only "indexes" and "page templates" remain as options. And "all files" does not rebuild the archives that are missing.

I can still publish normally from the templates section, but some of the blog's authors are comfortable with the pop-up box, so I'd like to return the templates to that box.
