Issues obtaining the Source

Didn't really know where to post this as it may be specific to me but here goes...

I get an error checking out from SVN

Running XP/SP2 with Tortoise SVN:

TortoiseSVN 1.5.0, Build 13316 - 32 Bit , 2008/06/21 07:55:29 Subversion 1.5.0, apr 1.2.12 apr-utils 1.2.12 berkeley db 4.4.20 neon 0.28.2 OpenSSL 0.9.8g 19 Oct 2007 zlib 1.2.3

over the past few day whenever I try to checkout (http://code.sixapart.com/svn/movabletype/branches/release-41) I get the following:

I can view the revision log with success before checkout.

REPORT of '/svn/movabletype/!svn/vcc/default': 200 OK (http://code.sixapart.com)

I always seem to get about 8.3 MB and it seems to hang at the same point, I am able o checkout without errors from http://code.sixapart.com/svn/mtplugins/trunk/

so I am stumped, it's not a major issue as the nightlies are available etc but it is driving me NUTS

Add field in registration?

I would like to add a field in the registration form, and then reference the contents of that field in the templates.

Specifically, I would like to add the Website Name, after Website URL in the registration form. Then on entries, I would like the entry to say, Posted by Carole of Carole's Kitchen, with Carole linked to the user's profile (as is now) and Carole's Kitchen linked to her website's URL.

Right now when someone leaves a comment, there is a little MT icon that is linked to the commenter's URL.

Question is how to create a field on the registration the data content of which can be used in the manner described.

I've added the following code to the Registration template in the System Overview:

Backup in MT4.1 then restore in MT4.2rc3

Backup data from MT4.1/PP1.1 can't enter MT4.2rc3/PP1.11 by restore function giving out an error,

It seems that something from both of MT4.2 and hosting side should be reconfigured. Any idea to fix this problem?

Archives got de-activated; won't publish

Hi,

I have no idea what I touched or where, but every blog on my site suddenly and simultaneously is unable to publish permalinks and archive pages. Every blog has the same symptom: on the publishing settings page, the "preferred archive" no longer has a drop-down box with choices. It now says, "No archives are active."

Every existing blog now has this problem, regardless of when it was last updated. However, if I created a new blog, it does not have this problem.

Does anyone have any ideas of how to "re-activate" the archives?

(I'm using version 4.2RC3)

Rebuild Module Templates for SSI

I'm having no luck with modules and SSI. The blog I am working on has PHP SSI set up and I've tried alternating between using module cache and not, but the modules don't republish unless I publish the templates they are included in. I've checked the files via FTP and they are not updating when I save them but the main templates do have the php include code.

I understand that there is a difference between saving and publishing, but with no way of publishing the updated modules alone then the whole use of SSI seems completely pointless.

One example of how I am using it:

I have a global header module that has navigation in it. If I decide to add a new link then I would like to update one template, rebuild that and not have to rebuild every single page/entry/archive/index.

Am I missing something or misunderstanding the concept?

Images in Entries

I attempted to link a photo from my Flickr account to a blog entry. However, the photo doesn't show up in the entry once it's published; the entry only shows the code I entered to link to the photo. Are there some settings within MT4.2 beta that I'm missing, because I've been embedding images from Flickr in other versions of MT with no problem.

Error in Community Pack : Can't call method "archive_label" on unblessed reference

After installing the Movable Type version 4.2rc3-en with: Community Pack 1.51

I'm getting this error when trying to create a new blog or forum:

Can't call method "archivelabel" on unblessed reference at /home/*/publichtml/cgi-bin/mt//lib/MT/CMS/Blog.pm line 1020.

Any ideas?

Convert html templates to php

I'm using 4.2 rc2.

In the past I've always been able to convert my index and archive files to php with no problem. I would typically go the publishing settings and change html to php. Then I would rename each of the two files that showed html as an extension to then show php as the extension.

Well now, with a new install I attempt the same process, rebuild, and I get a 500 Internal Server Error for both files. For me, my install seems to only work when I use html extensions for those two files.

Can anyone offer any suggestions?

I upgraded successfully from 4.1 to 4.2 RC2. So far everything seems to work great, and there is a huge improvement in performance and rebuilding speed.

One thing I have noticed that is not working for me is Editing Comments. Sometimes a comment is flagged as Spam. When I click on it to mark it as "Unapproved", nothing happens. It just stays on "Spam". The only workaround I have found is to first "Approve" it, then "Unapprove" it.

This might be a bug.

Publishing error w/ 4.2 rc2 "... at ... DBI.pm line 119."

Posted a note about this as a reply in the 4.1 forum. Clearly it goes over here.

We just ran into the same publishing error that was reported in the 4.1 forum: "close Statement has no result columns to bind ... at ... /Driver/DBI.pm line 119."

(So far) it only occurs on one of our blogs -- a test blog using the "Universal Template Set" on MT 4.2 rc2.

Just tried making a fresh new test with the Universal set and got the same thing. Symptoms ran like this for both "Universal" blogs:

Ran a "publish all" on a blog set with the Universal Template Set.

Long delay in getting control back at the browser.

On the server the mt.cgi instance doing this build is using 90%+ of RAM for over two real minutes and is averaging 3-5% of CPU on 2 second intervals.

Ca. 1 minute+: message comes back from server to the browser reporting the above error "... at ... DBI.pm line 119".

Same mt.cgi process (by proc ID) still running on the server. At about 4-5 minutes it stops running. No errors reported in the server system logs but the HTTPD error log reports a timeout -- though not clear if it's related: [Sun Jun 22 15:26:58 2008] [error] [client 71.XXX.XXX.13] (70007)The timeout specified has expired: apcontentlengthfilter: aprbucketread() failed, referer: http://[XXX]/mt/mt.cgi?mode=cfgentry&blogid=39&type=blog&id=39&saved=1

Subsequent build attempts gets the same error message, but it comes back in a normal amount of time for an MT publish and the server shows no more than the usual MT stress.

The above is identical for both events with the "Universal" set except that in the first instance I didn't start watching the server load until my associate informed me of "something weird happeing when [she] tried to publish universal".

We've been having similar all-memory load issues with 'comments' in MT 4.0 ... 4.2 rc2 so all here are primed to watch for "something weird" when working with the new MT.

Just reported it as a bug -- as was requested in the 4.1 forum -- but we're hoping that somebody else has seen the problem and knows how to get around it.

Trying to get Post Office to work

I'm sure this is probably a "me" issue and not a program issue, but hopefully someone can figure it out.

Is there any way to know if I put all the e-mail configuration stuff into the plugin correctly? Will it give me an error if it can't access the account I'm sending it to?

Also, the plugin instructions say to use an e-mail address that is given on the "write entry" page. But that address isn't an address I've set up, it's the address but with a number attached to it, what do I do with that number? It isn't part of the address I set up so anything I send won't go anywhere.

And my last issue (I'm just full of problems today apparently) is that in the install instructions it says to make sure I have an API password selected in MT (my understanding is that it should be under preferences under user) but there is no such field. Clearly I am doing something wrong or don't have an option selected somewhere that I need, but I'm having a heck of a time finding it.

Anyway, I appreciate any help and I'm feeling very embarrassed for acting so noobie-ish! I've been using MT for years and I feel horrid when I have problems with it that I can't figure out myself!

Entrypermalink loads universal template

Not sure how this is happening but when I click on an entry, it breaks out of my own template and loads a broken universal template, but I'm not using the universal templates. This is the source code in the body:

The body tag should be: as it is in my header template.

The link itself off the entry title is (first part of url I took out). http://..../2008/06/#000039

Do I need more sleep or is there a bug? Actually, it appears clicking on any archive like my monthly ones, will display the universal template version, why I don't know.

openid and nickname

It seems users signing in with openid get their openid displayed as nickname, and not their real nickname? Is this correct behaviour? If not, will it be fixed in realease?

Issue w/LJ Comment Auth

I've actually been having this issue since 4.2 RC1, I believe, but am currently on RC2, experiencing the same error. Basically, when people try to use LJ Auth or OpenID based on LJ to login to do commenting on my blog, they get an error similar to:
