Hi,

I'm having troubles with creating a new style catcher_library inside one of my themes.
Since I couldn't find any documentation on how to use the StyleCatcher plugin, I copied again the lines from an existing theme+style and adapted the names.

The style is listed but no previews are available.
Looking at the request made it says, that it can't find the corresponding html file.
Inspecting the mt-static directory after I applied the theme again (with version raise) I realized that the file is not being written at all, while the css+thumbnail.gif files are being written.

Any help on what names/labels to give and how style catcher works would be helpful.
I tried with Dumps inside perl, but it looks that even when the css+gif files are written, plugins/StyleCatcher/lib/StyleCatcher/CMS.pm apply is not called, while TemplateSet::apply is called.

I could use a little help getting started with a custom template and theme for a new site. I've got all the tools I could possibly need, I'm editing on a Mac so I can (ideally) use a tool like Dreamweaver to edit CSS and test styles, I can hand code and edit right on the server with Coda or TextWrangler, or even via a secure shell in a basic Unix terminal text editor. But I am stuck on a couple of most basic issues. I've been fiddling for 2 weeks and getting nowhere. The docs are relatively impenetrable.

Now the goal here is to create a basic website with only a few main pages, mostly stripped down of all the MT widgets. I'll only be using it as a CMS to edit and lay out a few basic pages. I'm using the Professional Blue theme. Then I need to create two blogs with a visually unified theme, although it will need different templates since it will need the full MT gadgetry.

The docs suggest linking to an external file if you want to edit templates. I'm not quite sure how this is structured. I want to modify the Professional Blue template, there are several professional-blue folders that contain various .css files. I am trying to find the correct folder (or folders) to just duplicate, and then link to those files in the Design>Manage Website Templates area.

I have made some hand coded changes to the Stylesheet under the Manage Website Templates. It starts with the Stylecatcher theme addition. It appears I should be editing a duplicate those .css files which would then be linked to that duplicate file. This all ends up on the site root styles.css and I am not quite sure how it's being generated. I keep editing the stylesheet in the MT editor and the changes just do not appear on the site. Most of the css properties in this stylesheet aren't documented, I think my local edits are being overridden by globals, which I can't seem to track down.

I could use a little basic direction on what is going on here. I am not sure what I am editing, how I am supposed to link to the external file and modify it directly, then have it automatically update upon rebuild. Can anyone give me a little perspective on this situation? It could help me immensely.

We use the default wysiwyg editor in mt5.
There are several situations where new content is not being saved to the database.
In debugging the situation, it looks like the hidden form field with the id "editor-input-content"
doesn't always get updated and this seems to be the field that is used when updating the db. For example. in Firefox, when a user hits the back button after previewing the page (instead of hitting re-edit this entry), the content appears in the text area but it's not in this field. After hitting SAVE. The entry then returns blank.

Has anyone seen this behaviour? is there a fix or does anyone know exactly when this hidden field gets updated with the content in the text area?

I know that just telling people, "don't hit the back button" would be ideal but we are dealing with many reporters and mandating something like that isn't always possible.

Also, we are seeinng that in Firefox, someone opens an entry, add content, preview, hit back button. hit save and they are directed back to preview and their content is gone.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks,

It has been a while since I set up my MT Blog and I cannot remember much about the tags and how they work. I looked in the Comment Entry Template and tried a few things but no luck.

MT knows their are 2 comments because it says it in the comment header, it uses the plural verbiage instead of the singular and says 2 comments.

It shows the first comment and the user information who posted.

The second comment does not show, however it does show the user information. I was thinking there must be some kind of a loop statement missing to iterate through the comments, but I cannot find anything that would resemble a loop in the code.

This happens immediately upon clicking the "Insert Image", "Insert File" in the editor or the "Add Entry Asset" in the bottom right of the entry screen. This is only happening on SOME blogs. Most blogs we have are working fine. All blogs are under the website. We can add an Asset to the blog using the "Assets | New " menu on the top left.

If I click "Stay on the page", then it reloads the lightbox window with blog entrie AGAIN in edit mode -- with no image added.

If I click leave the page, then it redirects me to my dashboard -- AGAIN, with nothing saved.

I tried using the ASSETS as well -- but the same thing.

Here are some specs: I am on Godaddy Shared Hosting, Using Firexfox v4, Movable Type v5.13. I have tried in IE 9, and Chrome -- all with the same result. Can somebody help me please? It's a pain in the but to add image manually via ftp and then have to write the html code every time I want to add an image.
