Hello,
I am using a Network Solutions server and am attempting to install movable type. I have placed the mt-static directory in the web-root, and the home folder in the cgi-bin. I have adjusted permissions accordingly. I then access the mt-wizard.cgi, and enter the static web address as well as what seems to me to be the static path to the mt-static folder. However, I keep returning error messages stating that the mt-static folder cannot be found. I have tried the following:
/mt-static
/htdocs/mt-static/
I found another thread on these forums stating that Network Solutions uses long paths for some reason. I accessed mt-check.cgi, and used the absolute path there to come up with the following:
/data/xx/x/xxx/xx/xxxxxxx/user/xxxxxxx/cgi-bin/mt
When I entered this in the configuration wizard, it returns a 500 internal server error, then suggesting troubleshooting with permissions (which seem to be correct).
Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi Jesse,
When you set the StaticWebPath you don't have to declare the server path, but the web one.
Meaning something like this:
http://www.movabletype.com/mt-static
