no its way bettter because of using static publishing more page will index from google and mt is realy flexible for use.
Hi Koy,
Movable Type unique's feature is the static publishing, which basically creates a physical file for each and every page on your website.
That means that for displaying a web page, movable type doesn't inquire the database.
Apart from that, movable type is more secure than word press.
If you look at all the major newspapers, you would see they are using movable type.
There was a time when MT was more popular than WP and what made many bloggers switch to WP was the licensing model that was launched by Six Apart, the company that created MT.
Basically they started to ask money for this CMS and from that moment a lot of people migrated to WP.
Later, in the second part of 2007, they realized the mistake and started the "open source" version.
At the moment, also the professional version is free, but for bloggers, not companies, which are subject to license.
I would definitely encourage people to use movable type and that is because in my experience of working with it daily for the last 9 years, I've been able to customize it for each and every project.
That is way beyond WP's capabilities.
Kind Regards,
Mihai Bocsaru

Mihai Bocsaru, i have two questions.
1) Does MT really work without using database? If i want to save the contents to database in addition to making a physical file (for having a backup from it) can i do this with MT?
2)I am a bit confused about license of MT. Can only bloggers use open source version? If i want to make a commercial website that has ads on it and also allows unlimited authors to write content to it, can i still use free version or i should purchase a license?
