I'm using Xampp on my machine and I have all the files but it still gives the following message on the localhost when I try to access it via the web:
Object not found!
The requested URL was not found on this server.
Error 404.
What am I doing wrong?

What do you mean with "on the localhost when I try to access it via the web".
When you call the localhost from the browser, you are going to reach your localhost root.
Your movable type installation files won't be right inside the root, but inside the cgi-bin folder.

You need check your install folder. Then go to correct path on browser.
