I get the first screen. "Sign in to Movable Type". but then..
i get this :Forbidden
You don't have permission to access /cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi on this server.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
Apache/2 Server at www.••mysite••.com Port 80
I tried to change any permission on the files,
but without result....

Reported on Movable Type 5

Hi Casper,
I would suspect that the problem is with your "cgi-bin" or "mt" folders permission. Make sure you set it on those 2 folders to 755.
The same 755 permission should be set to the .cgi files that are available inside the folder /cgi-bin/mt/ (not inside any other subfolders, but right on that path).
Kind Regards,

Thanks for the reply.
But setting the folders permissions didn't solve the problem for me...
:-(
To be sure all is set well, I will upload all the files to a new and 'clean' server.
Hopefully it will work then..
I will keep you posted later today :-)
Cheers,
Casper
Hmm...
Okay, I started off again from scratch on a new server (I ordered this morning)
Repeated all the steps,
but keep on getting the same result..
Only the first 'screen containing : sign in to moveable type'...
clicking on it results in this error...
"you don't have permmission.."
When I try to acces the file directly: http://www.onemanwolfpack.nl/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi
I get the same result...
Any ideas?
Casper
By the way,
Off course I have now set all the permisisons to 755...
no change...
And another update!
I Think that cgi /Perl is disable on the server (if posible)
I just emailed the helpdesk of my hosting provider...
Hope they can activate it..
Kind Regards,
Casper
Hi Casper,
Yes, it could be that the server has cgi/perl disabled.
I could also offer you a professional hosting solution for movable type, if you are interested.

Hi Mihal,
I've got it working now!
Thanks for the help...It was a server problem indeed, my hosting company now switched 'PERL' ON.
and it works!
Now I need to get started with the design and adding some modules :-)
Hopefully It all works fine from here on..
Cheers,
Casper
Hi Casper,
I'm glad to hear that!
You're very welcome!
I would be around if you need anything else and I'm also available for consulting on more difficult jobs.
Kind Regards,
Mihai Bocsaru
Well, thats good to hear!
A, pretty direct question is..
I need to have my site completed by the end of this week.
Now I noticed that it is gonna be a lot of work for me to start learning and understanding moveable type and programming / design it all..
Do you know anyone that is able and willing to 'build it' for me,
I am willing to pay (although I don't have much...)
Kind Regards.
Casper
Hi Casper,
I've got noticed this post of yours, but since you've already contacted me, we are going to do it together.
Kind Regards,
