Uploading Embedded Photos

Vote 0 Votes

When uploading a photo the "Embedded" choice is no longer functioning. Countless attempts always result in the code for "Popup Image".

  • Hi Jeff,

You've reported this issue to happen on an installation running v3.x.

    Please have a look at:
    http://www.movabletypedemo.org/v3x/cgi-bin/mt/mt.cgi

    Login with:
    - username: demo
    - password: demo

And try to embed an image.

See if the function works or not.

If it works on the demo site, but not on your side, then you could have an issue on your installation and you may want to either disable some of the latest plugins you've installed, or install movable type v3.38 (which is the latest one in the v3.x series).

    Kind Regards,
    Mihai Bocsaru

  • The embedded image function did not work in the demo. I did not deliberately install any plugins. I am also unaware as to how to upgrade. There's seems to be no simple way to do so.

  • I'm sorry to tell you, but I've just checked on the demo site and I've been able to upload a photo and to use the embed image function.

At the end of the upload process there are two buttons:
    "Popup Image" and "Embedded Image"

Pressing the "Embedded Image" provided me the embed coding, or if the checked option remained "Create a new entry using this uploaded file", it created a new entry for me with the embed coding in the Body.

You might have an issue on your local machine. Try to use a different browser and run the process again.

    Thanks,
    Mihai

  • Thank you Mihai..I'll check it out. I believe I need to find a support provider for future issues like this one.

  • You are welcome, Jeff!

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "<" or use this utility.
