Still having a problem with my Blog. I updated to the latest version recently and now I am unable to publish anything. Any help would be appreciated.
Publish error: Publish error in template 'Entry': Error in tag: at line 25 is unrecognized.
Reported on Movable Type 5

It looks like after you've upgraded the installation, you've forgot to reinstall the plugins you've used on your previous installation.
And inside your templates you are still having movable type tags associated with those plugins that you've forgot to reinstall.
What you have to do is to go inside the "Entry" archiving template and also on the template modules linked from it and collect all the movable type tags which are reported in red as "unrecognized".
Then, you would have to discover to which plugin any of those tags belongs. If you know the list of plugins you've had before, it would be much easier to make it work in a few minutes time.
Kind Regards,

Hello Mihai,
We weren't sure what the issue was so we tried to reinstall the old version as all of the old plugins had been installed. Now I can not even get into the backend of mt, this is what I see:
The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.
Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@saraatkinsphotography.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.
More information about this error may be available in the server error log.
Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.
So, I have both versions saved on my desk top. I have the old version 'installed' but I am not sure what to do at this point. I think I am going to wait from word from you as I am completely in over my head here.
You are getting that issue, because you've forgot to chmod all the .cgi files from inside your CGIPath to be 755.
Kind Regards,
Mihai Bocsaru

Thank you Milai, I chmod all the .cgi files. So that problem is fixed, I can get into the back-end now, but again when I try to publish I am having problems. I am getting a:
ERROR 404 - PAGE NOT FOUND
You're welcome!
Where are you getting that error?
URL?
http://www.saraatkinsphotography.com/darkroom/mt/mt.cgi
I just noticed that under the publishing settings, under publish paths it has the site url as the following /::/blog
should it not be www.saraatkinsphotography.com/blog
I was going to change it to that url but then there was a warning that said: Warning: Changing the site URL can result in breaking all the links in your blog.
So I figured I should rather ask you.
I also see that there is a restore from a back up function. I did make a backup before attempting the update. Do you suppose that it would help do do this restore?
Well Sara, since you are not very familiar with movable type, I believe that it would be much better if you could send me access to your movable type admin.
Send that to me via email and specify if that is the old installation or the new one. If it is the old one, we could eventually upgrade it together for a small consultancy fee.
