Hi All,
I am new to MT. I have installed a MT in our staging server and created site. Now I am trying to add assets( folder, files) into the particular site and files were uploaded successfully.
The folder name that I uploaded is : test
When check the folder through Pages-> Folder. I can see the url like http://mystaging.xxx.com/mymtsite/first/test. But When I access this url it show 404 error. Actually the folder was created in the http://mystaging.xxx.com/mymtsite/first/2011/08/17/test.
May I know Why it was created under some sub directory (2011/08/17).
Please let me know. Why the subfolder's are creating while we create a assets.

Hello,
Whe presence of the "/year/month/day/" parameter in the URL suggests that we're talking about an Entry, and not a Folder.
At least, the default archive mapping (URL structure) for Entries is to include also the "/year/month/day/" parameters in the URL.
For pages, the URL structure should contain only the folder and the page basename, obviously preceeded by the parent website and eventually blog (if the page is posted inside a child blog).
