Double opt-in email subscription plugin?

There is no plugin for that, but you could integrate an online service specialized on newsletter delivery which to provide also the double opt-in feature.

Yes, but this would work for entry subscription, but not for comment subscription. I may hack the current comment subscription plugin, but it's not got that much priority for me.
