problem with Comment Email Filter Version 1.11

I'm trying to make Comment Email Filter Version 1.11 work with my MT 3.36 installation, but I've run into this error and don't know how to fix it. (I'm a coding neophyte.)

Can't call method "blog_id" on an undefined value at /home/flick/public_html/cgi-bin/MT336/plugins/CommentEmailFilter/CommentEmailFilter.pl line 163.

This happens after hitting Post on a comment with a whitelisted email address. (The plugin is set to accept all comments, not just whitelisted ones.) The comment does get submitted to the system, and it will show up on the entry page if it is reloaded. But the error message is interupting the process.

Any ideas on what the problem is, and how to fix it?
