We use an MT blog template to report breaking news. But it seems that Google doesn't treat blogs as well as HTML pages when it comes to search results, especially in Google News.
What can be done to improve those results? Should the URLs *not* contain the word "blog"? Is there title tagging that may help? What about site maps, for what amounts to a constantly updating site, with separate URLs for each post? Franky, i'm not even sure whether to define this as a static or dynamic site.
Here's our main URL now:
http://newsblog.projo.com/
Here's a sample permalink to an individual post

Advice appreciated.

Google News has it own set of rules, see http://www.google.com/support/news_pub/ for what needs to be done.
Some of the verify-v1 entries in you header have an extraneous at the end that can cause problems.
Keywords should really be unique per page or at least relevant.
