I'd like to create an offline backup of a Movable Type 4.3 blog, to store on DVDs or print out as PDF files. I'm hoping to preserve the formatting, hyperlinks, tag clouds, etc.
Will BlogCollector let me do this? Is there any other software you'd recommend?
Thanks for your ideas!

I'm doing that all the time by creating a backup of the database and of the published files.
So two backups that I could always restore in case I need to.
Look up WinHttrack instead. It's fairly easy to use and it'll spider through your entire blog, download every image, css file, etc. referenced by the HTML and rewrite the URLs so that navigation will work if you load it locally.
Mike, I'm using PageNest when I want to create an offline Website backup, but that doesn't help when you want to restore because you have no database.
So it all depends on Jackie's goals.
A real backup means backup the mysql database and backup the files.
An offline version for browsing on local media means downloading the whole website with a tool like PageNest or WinHttrack.
Thanks, guys! I think my goal is to browse offline and possibly print out pages. The only hyperlinks would be within the blog (not to external web sites). It sounds like PageNest or WinHtttrack would do the job.
oh bigtimekick have no idea ,good luck.
