I've just upgraded to MT5 and I've noticed that when I'm editing/saving an Entry, HTML line breaks
are being added to the Entry Body... how do I make this stop? It seems to happen whatever 'Format' I choose for the Entry.
Reported on Movable Type 5
Phil, I think this has already been reported as a bug but the work-around at the moment is to disable the Zemanta plugin at the system level, presuming, of course, that you're not using it. If you are using Zemanta, you're reduced to having to delete the <br /%gt; when you create a new entry or page until it gets fixed.
Doh, wouldn't you know it... after posting that, the only other thing I did in Movable Type was to disable the annoying Zemanta plug-in! But it never occurred to me the two things would be related. Problem now solved - thanks again Violet.
Hello, Phil
I think you are using the default rich-text editor.
The matter you wrote was caused by that.
If you don't need to use rich-text editor, you can choose another editor option, instead of default wysiwyg editor. Then line-break tag won't be inserted to your entry-body form.
It was also happening with other formatting options (such as 'no' formatting and 'Markdown with SmartyPants'). No matter, as I'd already chosen to turn that awful Zemanta thing off (what were they thinking...?).
>Phil,
Oh, sorry, I found the problem, and you were right.
MT5's editor makes br code whatever I choose them.
Please ignore my comment.
>Hi Phil,
I happned to find that the line break code will be vanished if "zemanta" plugin would be disabled from your system overview dashboard.
Perhaps the cause of the issue is generated by zemanta.
