Including Google Analytics in past entries

Vote 0 Votes

Hello. I recently started using google analytics in my blog which has already around 1000 entries.

Question: if I include the Google Analytics code in my individual archives entry, will it automatically added to all entries, included those posted a while ago? That is so I can get stats for all teh site and not just for the new entries.

Thanks a bunch for your help!

  • YES. Then, GA code should go into "footer" template module in "template modules" section from dashboard. Upon this one time installation, GA code will be affixed at the foot of ALL entries (past/future). here is an excerpt of "footer" template module

    </div><!-- footer-content -->

    </div><!-- footer-inner -->
    </div><!-- footer -->
    </div>
    </div>

    <mt:ignore>
    1. Paste your GA code here or
    2. include your template module holding GA code like below
    then remove <mt:ignore> pair
    <$mt:Include module="GA Code"$>
    </mt:ignore>

    </body>
    </html>

  • Ok, I did a module like this. Is that correct? (I am new at this)

    HERE THE GA CODE

  • main page seems to be ok. then, just rebuild all entries.

  • Ups, just realized that the code did not show up. Here it goes:

    <!-- Module: footer-->
    	<div id="footer">
    		 </div><!-- footer-content -->

    </div><!-- footer-inner -->
    </div><!-- footer -->
    </div>
    </div>

    <mt:ignore>

    HERE THE GA CODE

    <$mt:Include module="GA Code"$>
    </mt:ignore>

    </body>
    </html>
    </div>
    <!-- end Module: footer-->

  • You seem pretty new to HTML in general. Nothing goes under the ending HTML tag.

    <!-- Module: footer-->
    <div id="footer">
    </div><!-- footer-content -->
    </div><!-- footer-inner -->
    </div><!-- footer -->
    </div>
    </div>
    <$mt:Include module="GA Code"$>
    </body>
    </html>

    If you leave those mt:Ignore tags wrapped around your GA module, it will not render on the pages.

  • Seems like i'll have to learn css.

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "&lt;" or use this utility.
