Does MT (including 5) support entry or page versioning / revisions such that you can revert back to a previous post? Or are there any reliable plugins that have this capability?

5 is supposed to add that.
MT5 does versioning for entries, pages and templates.
Great, thanks for your responses. I was looking around the site trying to find the new features for 5 and didn't see anything that mentioned versioning. I'm looking forward to it's release.

I was also looking at the site for similar features on the 5th version. The release will be pretty sweet from what we've heard.
