Hi..
Not sure if this is a bug or not, but when commenters register to a blog, they don't "officially" receive the right permissions to do what they registered for.
meaning: when a new commenter registers, he's able to post comments ("Immediately approve comments from" set to "trusted commenters only"), and I don't receive a notification email. however, when entering the user panel for the blog in mt, none of the commenters are present. They all end up under the user-panel in system overview with absolutely no permissions.
now, is it just me, or shouldn't people who register as commenters in a blog receive that permission so they end up on the userlist of that particular blog?
using 5RC2. same thing happened in RC1

Did you set up the "new user template" in the individual blog to have those permissions?
I'm sorry, the "new user template"?
I thought knew most of the ins and outs of MT now, but I don't think I've ever seen any "new user template". can't seem to find anything about it in the documentation either.
perhaps you could be so kind as to point me in the right direction?
Unless they changed it in 5.0, go to each blog's Manage Users screen, click on the add user button and you'll see something like "new user account" as the first entry. That is the template for what permissions will be assigned to a new registered user for that particular blog.
There we go! I can't believe I missed that.. Thank you very much!
