I tried downloading the MT5 beta in ZIP format, but was taken to a 404 not found page after clicking the link. When I tried unarchiving the .tar.gz file on Mac OS X 10.6, I got an error message that said "tar: unrecognized archive format. Inappropriate file type or format." Is anyone else seeing this error?

Having the problem over here on Mac OS X 10.6, any ideas?
*sigh*
That's because the file you're trying to download doesn't even exist anymore. Japan has already put out beta 2, someone apparently cleaned up the English mt.org site, and nobody's actually said anything about it yet.
Thanks for the link, Su. (Was the sigh for us, or for SixApart?)
The lag in communication, primarily. Six Apart Japan is leading development on this version.
There are many zip archives on my computer, but yesterday something happened with its. And I didn't know what. Luckily this morning I found out in the Internet the interesting software - recovery zip file, which to my great surprise resolved my trouble easy and for free as far as I remember. Besides the application will help some of my friends and relatives too.
