Hi there,
We're trying out MT5b2 on a Linux box and are very happy with it so far. I'm having trouble getting the default category archives template to publish. We've gone through all the probable sources of error and can't see to get any output.
* Categories created and entries marked.
* Permissions OK on output directory.
* Default Entry and Monthly Entry Listing archive templates are publishing fine.
* Have completely published site.
Any ideas on this one?

Ah, I had category archives setup to run as part of the publishing queue. Even when rebuilding the entire site, these files are not rebuilt. Feedback in the publishing dialog box also seems to indicate the archives are being processed. But the publishing queue is the only mechanism that will do so when it is configured as such.
That should not be the case. But they won't be re-built immediately. They'd still get put in the queue, regardless of how you went about triggering them to rebuild.
@su, you're absolutely right and I should have been more specific: when the publishing queue is enabled for the category archives, they are not immediately rebuilt but a job is added to the queue. When I originally posted my question, I hadn't setup the publishing queue backend process, so I wasn't registering any output. I began to suspect the queue might be the source of the trouble as it was one of the few variables I had purposefully altered.
Maybe that's something we could add to the installation docs? The publishing queue is a feature that's available in the default installation, but there's no mention of setting up the backend process.
