What does the MT search script search?

I have a blog that often has posts with a large photo only very little text around it.. I'd like to make it as searchable as possible using the text available, its titles, categories, tags, and keywords.

The problem I'm having is that I'll have a category, say "tabletop" with an article in it, but this term comes up empty when i do a search using the MT search. I added a tag called tabletop and it still doesn't come up.

I thought MT's search script searches all fields, title/text/tags/keywords.... but I'm getting the sense it doesn't?

Linda, try looking at the Manual's mt-config directives. I recall there are config settings that control what and on what blogs the search feature includes. That might point you to the solution you seek.

Doing a standard search will search an entry or page's title, body, extended, and keywords fields. Doing a tag search will search tags.

Is there a simple way with 4.2 to search only keywords? I located a hack online for searching different fields in 3.2, but I wasn't sure if it would work in 4.2. I'm going nuts trying to locate documentation for what parameters are valid for a search query (category, blog_id -- what others?).
