The web address I have been using to get to the movable type blog tool from my xp home desktop and work machine isn't working with my new Vista laptop. Whether I use IE or Firefox, I get the following message:
Not Found
The requested URL /cgi-bin/mte/mt.cgi†was not found on this server.
Apache/2.0.52 (CentOS) Server at edit-blog.advance.net Port 80
Yet if I passed the same address into a browser on my xp desktop, the login page pops right up.
Suggestions?
Thanks!
Ummmm what's the full URL that you were using beside the /cgi-bin/mte/mt.cgi part?
https://edit-blog.advance.net/cgi-bin/mte/mt.cgi
Loads just fine for me on a Mac with a nightly build of Safari...
You put a †after mt.cgi in that URL. Maybe that's why you're not seeing the same basic login screen I saw when I tried your link. If you're doing
https://edit-blog.advance.net/cgi-bin/mte/mt.cgiâ€
That's definitely your problem right there.
So odd - both Firefox and IE were adding those characters automatically to the web address as it was trying to load. This morning, I'm not having that problem. Thanks for your help everyone.
