Hi, Im pretty new to MT, and i was wondering, how do you stop the home page of your blog from getting too long.
For example, I don't want my home page of my blog to run for more than say 8 posts, so is there a way i could add a "previous" button or "1,2,3...." thing to link to older posts.
Sorry if my question is a vague, I don't really know how to word it correctly.

MT works a little differently than Wordpress or some other CMS/blog applications. It takes a little getting used to if you've been using WP or something else.
With regard to shortening your home page, make sure the blog is selected in the lefthand tab (not "System Overview") then go to Preferences > Entry.
The first item is "Entry Listing Default" and that's what you want to change.
When it comes to older posts, the way MT works by default is:
- Category archives show the latest X entries (specified by your Entry Listing Default setting) and have a link at the bottom to go to "Archives"
- Archives page will allow someone to browse category archives (again, it will show "recently posted" items) or monthly archives (instead of just going "previous" or "next" like in WP.)
I think you'll find as you go along that this is a cleaner approach to archiving... let me know what you think.
Ah this actually solve two of my problems, one, is the one listed here, and another is now i finally have something to do with the archives section
Thank you
