Dear MT community;
I am a "newbie" to this and have a simple question.. I'm attempting to produce a straightforward blog for a photography class. In this blog, I wanted to have students "log in" and be able to add entries to specific blog pages. These entries should contain not only plain text, but an uploaded jpeg image of their assignment as well.
I've configured a dummy "student" log in to have the proper permissions for Author, Contributor, and Commenter for testing purposes. When I log in to my blog as this dummy student, however, I cannot figure out how to allow or even see a way to upload images (or any type of file for that matter.) when the "student" adds an entry.. I'm stumped!
I'm guessing that this IS possible, and that I'm missing something really simple.. I've read the forums and manual with no avail, though. If someone can please reply with a suggestion, I'd certainly appreciate it!
Thanks,
Martin.
Can someone please tell me

If you are in an entry there is an image button that will allow launch the asset manager, or you go to create > Upload file
The user needs the "Editor" permission to be able to upload new files.
Richard,
You are wrong, These "Author, Contributor, and Commenter" user permission enough for upload file.
Already i checked with my blogs.
Thanks guys for your replies.. Sorry for not being accurate. I'm actually referring to a USER logging into my blog and uploading a photo, not the administrator doing so.
I've set permissions for my dummy user to be able to upload files, but I do not see any button on my blog that allows any file uploads for a USER. If you are curious, you can log into my test blog and try yourself.. If you see something different, tell me.. (I use a Mac with Firefox and Safari.)
Thanks again for your help, It's appreciated! :-)

Martyman you are talking about letting someone add a picture when here, correct:

I just went through the same thing - you need to make a custom field for to allow the image to be uploaded. You need to go to Preferences -> Custom Fields -> New Field. See my form here: http://virgin-islands-on-line.com/villa-reviews/create-entry.html
Log in with anon, anon - It lets people leave up to 3 images, and then they are styled on the page created as thumbs with full size pop ups. I thought I documented that here but I can't find the post.
Ah - this may help you too:
