Site not loading in MSIE, Fine in Chrome

Vote 0 Votes

My blog, www.legalprojectmanagement.info is acting up in MSIE.

One of my readers said that MSIE 7 would load the entries, but while it was loading some of the social media modules it would give an error message and then the page would go blank.

I usually use Google Chrome and my blog is loading fine in that browser, so I didn't notice the problem until it was pointed out. I fired up MSIE 8 and it loads, but the midle column is blank. None of the modules in that column load.

Could someone please look at the blog and let me know what might be causing the error?

  • Now MSIE gives a pop-up error message:

"Internet Exlorer cannot not open the Internet site http://www.legalprojectmanagement.info/. Operation aborted."

I click okay and I get an "Internet Explorer cannot display Web page" error page.

Still loads fine in Google Chrome.

  • I removed the Google Friend Connect module and now it seems to be fine.

  • Sounds like a Javascript issue. If you use a lot of JavaScript from different sources, you have to be careful about how they play together.

  • Late to the game, but what was happening is that the Javascript was executing before IE had finished parsing the page, modifying the page structure and making IE forget where it was.

If you look at the Microsoft KB article quoted in the error message you should see some possible workarounds.

  • Hi,
    the same problem here.

  • Thanks for the follow up. Rather than spend any more time trying to figure out the coding, I just removed the Google Friend Connect module and all is fine.
