HOW-TO: Multiple Forums displayed?

Hi, all.

We are total MTE Forum newbies, and noticed that the forums.movabletype.org forum has a way to display in the right hand column that shows recent activity for several forums, as well as an option on the "start-topic.html" template to select a forum to post to.

We want this. How do we do it?

    Setting up hierarchal categories should do it. I think the default templates handle it as well, just set up some root categories and then subcats below them.

    Hi, Richard. Thanks for the ideas...we did notice that the forums drop-down on the start-topic.html template. What about the right-hand-side of this forum site that includes info about all the sub-categories?
