Community Moderation with Notifications

I am working on a MT community project. I am moderating community activity, meaning I have to authorize each post that is published to the community (a lot of work I know, but it's just for the initial stages leading up to the launch). I know with the blog site I have comments set to send email notifications to let me know there are comments to moderate.

How can I setup notifications for posts made to the community forum? Is this something I need a special plug-in for?
