I'm just trying to find out how to get my userpic to display. I've successfully installed MT on my server, created a blog, added a test user, changed the style, but I can't get this one thing to just work, even for my account as an admin.
I can upload images, they show up in the dialog after I click "change userpic" on my profile, but nothing seems to stick. Almost all of my folders are read and write enabled at this point, and I've spent the better part of the afternoon trying to figure this out.
I searched the documentation, but all I found were several entries in a draft version of the design guide with no content attached.
I searched the forum, and found a couple of others who have had the same issue, but nobody seems to have answered the question properly.
If you can help, I'd appreciate it.

Do you have Image Magick installed?
Didn't realize a simple thing like this wasn't built in to MT. That's kind of lame.
Anyway, I don't have it. Is there any step by step documentation around for how to use it with MT? I'm a designer, not a programmer, and the IM site isn't exactly a big help.
Thanks for the reply!
Image processing isn't exactly a "simple thing" and Image Magick is one of the most widely used out there. There is no reason for MT to reinvent the wheel.
Before I go into how to install it, do you have shell access to your host? Could you ask your host if they could install it?

Although I understand that is not going to look very inviting ;)
hi guys
I've found the solution with ImageMagick 6.4.9 on Windows XP.
try to download and install Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 SP1.
I have my userpic now.
