Movable Type instructions for beginners?

My movable type is installed through pair.com and MT. I've looked at movabletype.org for instruction but can't find easy to follow step by step instructions for a beginner (non developer/designer like me).... i've used blogger and square space and they are easy to follow - i work as a photographer and in photoshop so not totally out to lunch on computer (Mac)....any help getting started would be greatly appreciated.
