I was poking around on my server looking for some MT information and I must have accidentally changed something, because now no users are able to log in, and to make matters worse, the retrieve password function does not recognize any of the valid usernames. Has anyone experienced anything like this before? Any suggestions on how to correct the problem?

  • Have you checked the author and permission tables?

  • First, let me apologize for my lack of experience with this sort of thing - I have been learning as I go.
I have looked at a number of MT author files on the server, and some of them had user names and password retrieval hints listed amidst a bunch of ????? and such. Am I looking in the right place? Once I have the tables in front of me, what would you do to correct the problem?

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "<" or use this utility.
