I successfully installed MT, according to the directions, and when I open the page, it does not appear right.

The columns are filled with text that seems out of place.

Try adding the following line to the styles.css

@import url(/mt-static/themes-base/blog.css);

I added the line to the end of the script.

Hi, I'm having the same problem. Upgraded to 4.23, and after a few hurdles, all seems fine– EXCEPT the MT dashboard is abnormal: text is displayed on top of images, and the drop-down menus (create, manage, design, etc) aren't working.

I added the line Toni suggested to the styles.css, but nothing has changed.

Back up your mt-static directory and then upload a fresh copy. 99 times out of 100, that's what the issue is when you're talking about abnormal rendering inside the CMS.
