I had a problem with publishing a page after making an update. MT was only allowing templates to be published, and not entries and pages.
I noticed the problem when trying to update a page or entry. I also noticed that when you click on the publishing icon, you have the option of publishing only index templates and not page or entry archives. The following below is what I did to fix the problem.
But I was wondering if anyone knew what causes the problem. I didn’t find anyone unusual in the Activity Log. Any suggestions would be great.
Thanks,
V
The Solution
I went to Design, and then click on templates. In the lower part of the right column, click on “Use Publishing Profile” underneath the Actions area.
A popup window will come, and select “Dynamic Publishing”, and click on the the save button. It will then ask you to confirm the change, and click on the button to do so.
Next, click on the publishing icon, and you will see that you can now publish all files or either index templates, page archives (which consist of pages), and entry archives (entries), among other things.
Then, go back and click on the Use Publishing Profile link and change it back to “Static Publishing.”
This should fix the problem, but I don’t know what causes the problem. It may be a bug, or something.

Did you verify that you had active mappings before this for the broken archives?
Thanks, Mike.
How can I check for this?

Just check at the bottom of the listing archive editor where you would have seen static publishing.
