Community: Each user with a blog?

Just a quick answer…

I want to enable each user to have their own small blog on my site so that they can publish their own content, then I want to aggregate it with Multiblog onto my MAIN site’s front page.

My question: How intensive is giving every user a blog going to be to the entire system?

Essentially, I will use plugins to notify me of new postings from all the blogs within the network, and I’m going to add functionality to allow Administrators to PROMOTE blog posts from any blog to the MAIN page of the main site.
