When installing the motion beta, all styles are lost on the install screens once you get to the database settings and no javascript is loading. You can fudge it through to the upgrade screen (i was testing with a copied database), but it halts at that point (assuming it’s because there is no javascript).
It looks like all the static files are referenced wrong, using the following format:
/mtmotion/mName /images/indeterminate-progress-bar.gif
(note the space after mName).
Looking in the config file, it had added the line:
StaticWebPath /mtmotion/mName /
This was for all intents and purposes a clean install, as the problem occured before the database was accessed, it can’t have known I was trying to access an existing database.
Installing on IIS6 with ActiveState Perl 5.8.8
Manually changing the config file works.
Interestingly, it works very well as an upgrade. No problems at all so far. Not running a majorly complicated install but a full rebuild worked as expected.
The motion stuff looks clever, not quite got my head around how best to use it, and in what situations it would be most valuable, but certainly some really nice tricks in there.
I enjoyed what you said here:

I started my reo (real estate owned) site reocondodeals.com and am wondering the same thing. Did you have more ideas?
I would like to install a music plugin.
