I am just starting to use MT, and I am wondering if it is possible to have slightly tighter integration of images in entries.
Specifically, much like the mt:entry tag, is there a way to display pictures independently of the entry data? I’d like to post a picture along with a normal entry(possibly more), but not have to paste in much html. I figure I would utilizing the asset manager to upload files via MT.
Reported on Movable Type 4.2

Yeah, use the asset manager. It will allow you to do things like whip up some thumbnails without any extra work on your part. It also allows you to control the style attributes of the inserted images, so that you can position them above, to the left or to the right of the text on your page like you would get if you were doing it purely by hand. There's a button in the entry editor for quick insertion of images that you have uploaded through the asset manager that will let you control all of this.
Another advantage of uploading images from within the movable type (and so, via the asset manager) is that you could also easily re-use an image for publication across multiple entries or pages.
Once you do so, if you will look at that photo from within the asset manager, you will be able to see on which exact entries that asset is used...
I believe that is really helpful!
