Linked Templates, exporting/importing from one blog to another

Vote 0 Votes

Hi. I've created a set of Linked Templates for an installation of MT Pro 4.21.

I would like to use these for another, fully separate installation of MT Pro 4.21 at a different domain with a different MySQL database.

I can easily copy the local versions of these templates as necessary, but is there any way that I can export the linked template specs from the first db and import it into the second?

I see that the linked template info is a field in the mt_template table. I've exported this table from the first db, but I've been unable to import it into the second.

The exported sql file has specific references to its source db, which I assume is why it is being rejected by the import process. I've tried searching and replacing inside the sql file but that hasn't worked.

Anyone know how I can do this, without having to manually recreate all of the linked templates on a template-by-template basis, whether through a db export/import process, or some other way?

The second installation is a new one and does not yet have any entries. Can I possibly clone or copy the first installation to the second one, at a different domain, and make the necessary changes afterwards?

Thank you.

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "<" or use this utility.
