A couple of problems with the new Sitemap Template

Vote 0 Votes

Greets:

I'm using the new sitemap template and I'm having a couple of issues. Using 4.21 OS MT and v0.7 of the template

Here's the output: LinK

- None of the category links are appearing. That's right after the first loc group. I hope you'll see all those empty loc lines in there.

- Towards the end the individual Post links are displaying with the opening loc in one line, followed by the url for the post in question followed by the closing loc line.

Note sure who to send this off to. Hoping someone can offer assistance.

Thanks
-drmike

  • The link is not working.

A link to the template as well would be useful.

It sounds like it could be some stray mt:ignore tags

  • Two things you can try for the first problem: add blog_id="XX" where XX is your blog id to mt:Categories or refactor the template markup to use ArchiveList tags like the rest of the template. WRT the second problem, that's still valid XML, so I don't think you should worry about it.

  • What exact template are you referring to? A link would be ideal.

I originally created this on the wiki(at 0.7) and have been meaning to update for ages, but someone recently made some changes on his own site without incrementing the version number, so...

  • For future reference, do links not work here or should I ust put the URL in plain text?

    Link to sitemap: http://drmikessteakdinner.com/sitemap.xml

The template is the one recently talked about by Byrne on the mt.org blog: http://wiki.movabletype.org/Canonical_Google_Sitemap_template

It's version 7 out of that grabbed on 10/20 I believe. All I did was a copy and paste.

For reference, I'm using the Paged Archives 1.31 plugin created by Alden Bates. Turning it off and rebuilding the sitemap gives the same results.

Su, when I was poking around for a fix, someone with an article with the template but it looked the same as the one I used. Do you have a link?

Thanks you for the responses as well as your time,
    -drmike

  • I went ahead and moved back to the Java solution we were using.

    Thanks anyway.

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "<" or use this utility.
