I'm new to MT and just trying to get off the ground with one of my first posts but if I add /etc/passwd anywhere in the body of the entry, I get a 403 Forbidden error.
I am running MT 4.2.1 on a shared host running linux, apache 1.3.41, mysql 5.0.51a-community, not sure which version of perl but I can find out if it matters.

wow, was using the wrong keywords to find a solution to my problem. I apparently have the same issue as in http://forums.movabletype.org/2008/09/solution-403-error-on-new-post.html
different host though. adding those lines to my .htaccess worked
