I've been looking around online but I haven't found a step-by-step on what I need. I'm having trouble getting users to register and be able to post topics and responses to the forums once they have validated their email address. Can anyone explain what settings I should have and what I need to do so that users that register and then validate their emails can post to the forums and also to other blogs in the system (comment on them, etc.) without the admin having to change permissions for each user when they sign up. There must be some way for it to be automatic so that users can start posting and commenting right away. If anyone could explain how that works and what to do it would be awesome.

Set the permissions you want for the blank blog user "(newly created user)" and these permissions will be applied to system-created users.
