Twitter Action stream & 401

Vote 0 Votes

For a while now I've been getting "Could not fetch http://twitter.com/statuses/user_timeline/bigolslabomeat.atom: 401 Unauthorized" errors in my activity log and i just put it down to Twitter breaking (as it usually does) but the problem has persisted, so I opened that page up in my broswer and it worked fine.

I then opened it up on the server where MT is installed and it asked for a username/password.

I just realised this is because I protected my updates from the public timeline, now the easy fix is to turn this off, however is it worth looking at either giving a username/password in the config for those that do have it turned on?

Also posting this in case anyone else has had or does have this error and is stumped as to why.
