Movable Type Pro Community Forum Installation Error

Vote 0 Votes

okay, I finally figured out that MT Pro is a set of 4 different things: Professional Website, Classic Blog, Community Blog and Community Forum. For whatever reason I assumed there was just one big installation and everything was under the hood. After I couldn't find it all I did another installation and I see that when you install it there is a choice for the 4 aforementioned template sets. That was a major discovery.

Here's the error I received after I installed the Community Blog sucessfully and then tried to add the Community Forum:

ERROR: ++++ Publish error in template 'Archive Index': Error in tag: error in module Footer: Publish error in template 'Footer': Error in tag: Error in tag: error in module Sidebar: Publish error in template 'Sidebar': Error in tag: Specified WidgetSet not found. ++++

Did I not configure the Community Blog completely and not add a necessary widget?

Please advise, thanks.

Dante

  • If that is a fresh install, then it sounds like a bug

  • Hi Edmund, could you expand on what you mean by "add the Community Forum," perhaps there's a better way to do what you're looking to do?

Just debugging that error message though, check to make sure that the Widget Set you have included (in the 'Sidebar' template module) exists in Design > Widgets.

If you need to share template code, replace all the "<" signs with "<" or use this utility.
