Hi, I've just installed 4.12 and can't get the comments working. I have registration set just for native and I have comments allowed. When I click on comments the "Leave a comment" text appears with no sign on possibilities. When I refresh I see the sign-on boxes but they disappear. When I sign in as administrator and click view site (from admin) then comments (from the blog) the line "thank you admin for signing on now you can comment" appears. I'm not sure what to do next. Joe User doesn't see anything to sign-up or sign-on.

Have you tried rebuilding your blog? If you change that setting, by allowing anonymous comments, IIRC, you have to rebuild.
Starting to show a theme here... I installed MT pro 4.21 and the demo comment shows but no form shows (not even the script in the view source code). And yes, I had it set to different comments settings even free for all...still no form showing.
I am having the same problem in 4.21. Is anyone out there with a solution?
I have tried to change my style, authorization settings, enabling/disabling comments system wide and specific to my blog, ensuring registration is enabled, and republishing my blog numerous times. What is missing?
I am having the same problem with MT 4.1. My comment form simply disapears. The only way I can comment on the blog is if I "Sign in". Even after I set the comments to "Anyone".
Really strange, this happened all of a sudden. I can comment on my old blogs but not on the newly created blogs. Does anyone have a suggestion?
Thanks!
Bah!
I'm having this same issue in MT 4.23.
If I'm logged in as an admin updating templates, the same cookie logs me in on my comment form even though I have anonymous comments enabled and registration disabled. This is really annoying. The whole comment/registration thing is botched. It's giving me all kinds of issues.
I want the old comment system back.
Hi Clifton --
Did you ever get this working? I'm running into the same problem, and it looks like there are other sites out there that show similar behaviors. For example, the following (not my site) shows a comment form initially, but it then disappears:

Any ideas?
