I recently upgraded from MT 4.01 to MTOS 4.1 and the upgrade went well, though I now have one major and one minor issue.
Part of the reason for the upgrade was to use the MTForum and EntryPost plugins to provide threaded forum features. However, after I installed these plugins, I can no longer get to the admin interface. The mt.cgi URL that worked before is no longer available. Has anyone seen issues with these two plugins? Is there a general list of 4.x plugins that have been obsoleted by MT 4.1? I had problems with plugins after upgrading from MT 3.35 to MT 4.01, and the list of obsoleted plugins helped me enormously.
Second issue is that when I had accessed the admin interface in MT 4.1, on the right-hand side are numerous small graphics representing different functions. There should be only one of each, but 4-6 of each are actually appearing. Does anyone know how to fix this? Does it affect functionality, or is it just a cosmetic issue?
Thanks for any help with the above!
Greg

The first part is probably a question for Mark Carey. Since you say this happened after installing the plugins, have you removed the plugin files to see if the main app behaves after that?
As for the second part, what screen are you talking about? I can't think of any obvious reason you should be getting dupes of interface elements, though, unless maybe one of the application templates got damaged. Try re-uploading your tmpl/ directory.
Thanks for your response - yes, I've sent Mark Carey a note about this as well. When I remove the MTForum/EntryPost/TemplateInstaller/IfAvailable plugins, access to the mt.cgi admin login URL is restored. Add back even just MTForum, and it disappears again.
However, I'm still wondering if there is a general list of plugins now obsolete with MT 4.1 - perhaps not, since there is no list posted that I've seen...
With the second issue, I was talking about the admin interface as soon as one logs in - on the right side of the screen, under "Handy Shortcuts" are several graphics. This issue fixed itself recently somehow - I suspect it might have been related to code for the "What's New in MT 4.1" banners, since when I disabled those for each blog, the problem went away.
