Beau has been making great strides in making our default templates much, much simpler and easier to understand. These template produce the exact same HTML as the templates in 4.0 and 4.1, but utilize a far simpler syntax and set of includes.
I am very curious to hear what the community thinks of the progress he is making. You can view the new default templates at code.sixpart.com.
Remember - these new templates will not break existing styles at all. Their primary objective is to make MT easier for people, especially new users, to understand and effectively make changes to their blog's HTML.
