I´v been checking out the community blog - seriouseats.com. I want to create a similar solution for my company. How do I do this? - Can I get Six Apart to install MT on a external server and then use it seemlessly on in a browser like any CMS? - How do I create the communitys unique design? We provide the software platform for MT Community Solution, and then can connect you with third-party consultants or our Professional Services team to perform an installation if you'd like. After that, you've got it exactly right -- you manage and maintain it all through the browser, with all the usual simple management tools you've seen for blogging with Movable Type.
For design, if you have experience with making blog templates yourself, and are familiar with most graphical design tools, you can modify or even create an entirely unique desigh yourself. If not, we can again help you find a consultant or designer to implement whatever design you wish. I hope that helps!
