Jim is working on some tweaks to these forum templates and I was curious if the community here has any feedback for us to help give us some direction in what we may or may not want to consider doing.
I for one am wanting to:
get rid of the favoriting count on the front door - there are two many numbers and the one we should focus on is the number of replies, not the number of favorites.
give a little more room to forum topics, and less room to commenter avatars on the front door. it seems difficult to maintain the integrity of the page with the current layout.
These are two areas in which we want to improve. There are others of course too, but I would like to hear from you folks!

A bit more on the highlight new activity. Might be an interesting use of the Action Stream stuff.
I saw this over at the Atlassian blog - and immediately thought that might be quite a nice way to show activity on here: http://blogs.atlassian.com/developer/2008/02/communicatingacrossproducts.html
Profiles are now working again. Terribly sorry for the borkage. As it turns out I was referencing a globally shared header that was trying to invoke template tags that require a blog context. Because profiles exist outside of a blog context, they were dying. Ooops. Fixed, by wrapping blog specific template tags in:
Oh - and BTW, I am working on making profiles look better.
@Bill - I am not sure these new forums are ready to replace our forums located at forums.sixapart.com. I think there is still a lot of room for these to improve before importing all of that old data into this site.
I would the last reply dates to work. On the front page all the last reply dates are the date of the original post, so your post here on the 4th March shows as 28th Feb on the forum home.
Also, I keep get JavaScript errors. This is a modified comment form but it is still looking for things like the remember me check box, which does not exist.
