Issues with Movable Type 4.01

Vote 0 Votes

Hello.

I'm using the free version of Movable Type 4.01 to give instructions on the programs I make. I have found the following issues:

(1) When I upload a picture, using the format "Convert Line Breaks", the code is placed at the beginning of the entry and not at the place where the cursor is. I have to cut this code and move it to the correct place.

(2) When I use the option "Create > Page", the page is created as an entry and placed at the top. I thus created an "About" page and left it there because I don't know how to make it appear detached of the entries.

(3) When afterwards I added a new post, the "About" entry disappeared altogether, so I am now without any "About" page or entry.

Thanks.

  • 1) Is a matter of simplicity. With the way that JavaScript and HTML work together, it's easier to get things reliability correct that way than to figure out where to place it in the HTML DOM tree based on your cursor position.

    2) Are you saying that when you create a page, it appears at the top of your main index page as an entry?

    3) Go to Manage->Pages and you should be able to see the page and get the link from there.
