I was under the impression that "Movable Type Open Source" was open-source. Apparently that's a lie or a mistake. Because at the bottom in the backend section, it says "This is Beta software and is not intended for production use. The license to use this software expires on January 31, 2008. View license".
This was file "MTOS-4.1-en-boomer-r1108-20071212.tar.gz" in "http://www.movabletype.org/opensource/nightlies/"
Pardon me if I'm wrong, but that's NOT open-source. What gives?
This was a bug in our initially release. Code from the commercial, but public/free beta leaked into the core MTOS distribution. This was only evident in the first nightly build of MTOS and this code should have been removed for all subsequent nightlies.
Our apologies for the inconvenience and alarm.
I assure you MTOS is complete open source. Look at all the license headers! They all say GPL.
